Prayers

Prayer is responding to God, by thoughts and by deeds, with or without words. The principal kinds of prayer are adoration, praise, thanksgiving, penitence, oblation, intercession, and petition. Our Lord gave us the example of prayer known as the Lord's Prayer.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Public Prayer Request

This prayer request is public and may be included on the prayer list which is read at the Sunday service during the Prayers of the People.

Private list to the Daughters of the King (DOK)

This private prayer list is the ministry of St. James' order of the Daughters of the King (DOK). They were founded in 1885, as an order for women and girls in the Episcopal, Roman Catholic, and Lutheran (ELCA) Churches dedicated to prayer, service and evangelism. Each Daughter receives a weekly list which she uses as part of a daily prayer meditation. All names and situations are kept confidential.
