Commenting on Jesus’ parable and the example set by Jacob in our readings for the day, the Rev. Abby VanderBrug offers that “We don’t need a perfect field. We just need to keep our eyes and hearts on being good soil. And we simply need to keep returning to God with the life that we have with what we’ve been given, trusting that the gardener is already at work.”
