Taking her cue from the demanding gospel reading of Luke 14:25, the Rev. Abby VanderBrug admits to how difficult it is to follow a Christian life, how heavy the cross is: “…we’re all still works in progress. We’re all still beginners when it comes to a life of faith. But God’s mercies are new every morning, and we always have a chance to sing a new song.”
